Akopan was an amazing experience. It is a virgin environment, with a nice native people and wonderful landscapes. Every day in the hike is a nice surprise, totally different. The first day walk is on a wonderful plain (sabana) and the entrance to the jungle. The second day is a hike through an amazing amazonic jungle with huge trees and vines. The third day is an incredible walk in the river with beautiful waterfalls and finally to arrive to the top of the Tepuy, which is formed by a very unique flora and stones formations. The hike is not complex, but it is important to be in good physical shape and to have the right technical equipment. The return included a nice afternoon in Canaima, which gives the opportunity to enjoy the park and to rest prior to return to the reality. The Akanan service and logistics was very good, the food excellent, the guide (Arturo) very professional, and the porters (local pemones) very nice and attentive. For the Tepuy lovers, I would recommend Akopan as an experience after Roraima, but prior to Auyan.
