Ciudad Perdida is the site of an ancient city in Colombia that is older than Machu Picchu in Peru. It´s a challenging but rewarding hike with ancient ruins, jungle, river crossings, native villages, waterfalls and much more. Ciudad Perdida is located in the Sierra Nevada coastal mountains near Santa Marta. And it remains accessible only on foot in what is one of Colombia´s most exciting and breathtaking hikes.

Itinerary:
Day 1: SANTA MARTA Upon arrival meet with our guide and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour to visit Quinta San Pedro de Alejandrino, last home of The Libertador Simon Bolivar. Also visit the Gold Museum where you can learn about the Tayrona Culture. If time condition let us, we continue to Taganga, a fishermen town, with beautiful landscapes to enjoy the sunset. Back to Hotel (B)
Day 2: CABAÑA DE ADAN 10 am. Pick up for private 2 hour transfer to Aguacatero and transfer to 4WD truck for 45 min ride to Mamey. Lunch. The trek begins along the river and the first stop is a swim at a beautiful natural pool. From this point begins the steepest hill of the trek, this 2 hour hill, we will be rewarded by fresh squeezed orange juice. Another hour will take you "Cabañas Adán" where you will sleep in hammocks and enjoying the spectacular natural pool and cascade (B/L/D)

Day 3: PARAISO...

Day 3: PARAISO Wake up with the singing birds and sounds of the Forest. After a delicious breakfast (eggs, fruits, bread) you get ready and begin the trek. On the way pass through Mutanyi , an Indigenous village where you can see how natives live today. Arrive for lunch to enjoy the Buritaca River and surroundings, the trek continues along the Buritaca River until arrive to the camp in Paraíso, our last camp before entering the Lost City. Great opportunity to observe the plenty nature. The afternoon is spent relaxing and swimming at the river. During dinner your guide will share his knowledge about the Tayrona Culture and talk about tomorrow planning trek. Overnight in Hammocks or beds (B/L/D)

Day 4: THE LOST CITY Today we wake up before dawn, have breakfast and begin hike to reach the Lost City with the first light. The hike winds through thick vegetation and suddenly, after crossing the river, we encounter a primitive rock stairway with over 1000 steps that will lead us to the magnificent Tayrona City. Upon arrival you will have a guided tour around the area and have free time to wander on your one or just sit down and absorb the energy of the site. And to top it all you will have a private meeting with the chief or shaman of the area. On our return, we collect our gear at camp and hike to "Campamento de Adán" for lunch . After a little rest & fruits continue to Bumake camp. Overnight in Hammocks (B/L/D)
7 hours, distance: 9 Kms, altitude: 470 mts
Day 5: TAYRONA NATIONAL PARK Continue down the mountain enjoying fruits and juices until reaching Mamey, where a delicious lunch will be served. Time to relax and shower before 30 min. 4WD transfer to Aguacatero and private 20 min. air conditioned van to Tayrona National Park. Check in at spectacular Ecohab Resort on the beach (B/L/D)

Day 6: TAYRONA NATIONAL PARK Ecohab resort is a beautiful Lodge located on the beach. Each cabin is located with beautiful views over the ocean. Today you can relax on the private beach or explore the nearby beaches only reachable by horse or walking. (B/L/D)
Day 7: HOME Last morning to enjoy the park before private transfer to Santa Marta Airport for flight back home (B)
